The Type R is Root Industries latest entry in their pro scooter lineup and, make no mistake, the Type R is not your typical entry level scooter. Root gave the Type R an entry level price and deck size but just about every other part on this scooter is an intermediate to pro part. The Type R deck has 2 1.25" wide flat rails to lock in grinds at the skate park, as well as plastic front and rear decks plugs. With 110mm wheels, the new R2 grips, and 4 killer color ways, this $169 packs all of the punch that a comparable $300 pro scooter does!
The Root Type R pro scooter is built around a 4.8" by 19.6" deck with an 82.5 degree headtube angle. Because the deck does not have boxed ends, we consider the Type R pro scooter deck to be a park deck but it's equally at home at the skatepark or in your hood. PRO SCOOTER DECKS that are 19-19.99" long will be ideal for intermediate to pro riders that have been in the sport for a while or for those scooter riders that need a little more footspace. The Root Type R features standard outer diameter Y-Bars that are 22.8" tall by 21.65" wide. Bars this size are ideal for riders who are 4.5 to 5 feet tall. Bars and forks are tied together via an IHC compression system, which is a favorite among pro scooter riders. Finally, the Root Type R rolls on 110mm x 24mm wheels, which are the most popular size among riders.
